Thanksgiving

Filed under: Uncategorized — mtbco @ 9:39 am

We had a good Thanksgiving meal.   Lisa and I prepared it for my parents, Lisa’s parents, and our friend Robert Dudley.   It went fairly well.    I added too much chicken broth to the stuffing so it was a little mushy.   Here is a picture:

After Thanksgiving, we actually braved black Friday and did a little shopping with Lisa’s parents.   We went to Babies R’ Us, Home Depot, and Mardels.   We then had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes and then Lisa, Sally, and I took a hike at Mt Falcon that afternoon.

Thanksgiving / Maxwell Falls

Filed under: Uncategorized — mtbco @ 8:04 am

On this Thanksgiving, I just reflect on how blessed I am.    God is Creator of all, and provides so wonderfully for us.   I am so thankful this year for our child, growing in Lisa’s womb, for Lisa as my wife, and for my loving family.    It is such an amazing blessing that Randy is willing to donate his kidney to me.   But, my biggest blessing is my relationship with my Lord – made possible only because He sent His one and only Son to die on the cross as a sacrifice for my sin.   Only through that paschal act am I redeemed and can have a relationship with our Holy God.   I am just in awe of that love and sacrifice, and so thankful God took the initiative to save me.   My prayer today is that you too, recognize your sin and recognize that Jesus paid the penalty for that sin on the cross.   All you need to do is accept this gift, and put your faith in Christ.   What an amazing outpouring of love, mercy, and grace that we can rest in on this Thanksgiving.

Last Sunday, Lisa, Sally, and I went hiking at Maxwell Falls.    I really enjoyed the place, and didn’t know there was so much national forest access up Brook Forest Road.    Here are a few pictures:

Veteran’s Day

Filed under: Uncategorized — mtbco @ 8:33 am

All is going well.   I am feeling good, and just continuing to wait for the transplant in December.   Please continue to pray that I’ll avoid any infections between now and then.

Thanks to all of our troops serving our country.   Special thanks to my brothers David and Randy on Veteran’s Day.

Mom, Dad, Lisa, Sally and I played disc golf on Veteran’s day.   It is nice working for a bank and getting Veteran’s day off.   We played at Expo Park.   I threw well, but didn’t score well.   My approach game and putting was a little bit off since I hadn’t been playing much.   My Dad played great – 4 2’s and an overall score of 56.   I had a 60.   My only 2 was a lucky 100′ approach shot – one you definitely don’t expect to make.   I missed a lot of shorter makable putts that could have been birdies.    I did save a 4 on hole number 2 after turning my drive over and leaving it in the lake.    Here are a few pictures:

Lisa is feeling better.   The morning sickness nausea has pretty much subsided.   We will have the 20 week ultrasound and find out the gender of our child a couple of days before the transplant.
